Away from home for the first time? Lambda Chi Alpha has it all!
Leadership Development is important, but how do you learn it? The classroom can only teach so much…se we offer our members:
- Internships and partnerships with major corporations (OSU’s MECOP, Intel, New York Life, John Hancock, Nike, CH2M/Jacobs Engineering, Mercy Corps, etc).
- A personal mentor. Each new member of Lambda Chi Alpha is automatically assigned an older “mentor” brother to help figure out classes, teachers and opportunities.
- Authority to make decisions. Every officer in Lambda Chi Alpha has at least one or two assistant officers who are being trained in management, organization, motivation and leadership.
For as long as we can remember, Lambda Chi has welcomed new brothers from every state, making 1015 NW Monroe in Corvallis their new home away from home. Brothers like James, Kingston, and Max. In their own words:
“Coming from out of state, I didn’t know what to expect at college. Joining Lambda let me feel like I already belonged here at OSU. I found a group of friends that made me feel accepted and included. With this fraternity, there is always someone to do something with…study, play, and cheer for the Beavs!” —James Halleck (California)
Connections are key…its not who you know but how well you know them! Want to meet some people to help you in life? Lambda Chi Alpha members are involved…
- With at least one social function each week with a sorority and fielding a sports team in every intramural event.
- With our Campus…Lambda Chi Alpha is the only fraternity to require 100% participation in OSU clubs and organizations.
- With our community. Our partnership with Community Outreach Incorporated has enabled us to be the only OSU fraternity to collect, donate and be recognized for providing over 1 million meals to the people of Linn-Benton Counties. Every penny we collect in our philanthropies are donated to our service cause.
- With key alumni at our tailgates, alumni events and Alumni Career Fair (imagine a ballroom with tables and at each table is an alumnus in a different occupation…our members can ask questions about career opportunities, career paths to take and share resumes)
- With our new building project. Lambda Chi Alpha will break ground soon on a brand new fraternity house to replace our current house.
“Hawaii is a place where everyone knows each other…and I like that. Joining Lambda gave me the exact same feeling as home…it has made me feel connected.” —Kingston Seguancia (Hawaii)
Make a difference! Be part of changing our campus, our community and our world! It all starts with you…
- Lambda Chi Alpha is a historic OSU fraternity…operating continually for over 100 years! Be part of the tradition!
- Lambda Chi Alpha has one of the largest scholarship endowments of any OSU fraternity and annually gives out close to $40,000 in awards and grants to OSU members.
- Lambda Chi Alpha is committed to helping you succeed at college. Study tables, in-house tutoring, advising and mentors will help you with academics, classes and homework. Our GPA is traditionally over the all-men’s average at OSU each term.
“I wanted to be part of something bigger than just me…to make a difference somehow. Lambda is one of the most involved fraternities on campus and I love the fact that we are known for giving back to others while we are sharing an incredible experience…LOL…and lets be honest…it’s really fun too!” —Max Shaffer (Georgia)
